Ed Sanders of the Fugs Interview Show The Fugs were a satirical bunch of punk poets formed in late 1964 to make music that challenged the status quo with political and sexual subject matter. They aroused the evident ire of the government, exhibited when the FBI wiretapped Sanders and raided the Fug's founder's Peace Eye book store in New York's Lower East Side. Ed was also a co-founder of the Yippies along with Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. His storied history (Life Magazine even had a 1967 cover featuring his mustachioed face as that of the "Other Culture") among the great writers, poets, and musicians of his day is a wild ride, and Ed brings us back to when he moved and shook along with the "greatest minds of his generation" (he was close to Allen Ginsberg as well).
