Jeremiah Cymerman is a New York City based clarinetist and producer working at the intersection of improvised, electroacoustic, and experimental music.
Shabaka Hutchings is a British jazz saxophonist, clarinettist and band leader. He leads the bands Sons of Kemet and Shabaka and the Ancestors. He is also a member of The Comet Is Coming, performing under the stage name King Shabaka.
Originally written for Miriam Makeba who recorded it in 1954 with the Manattan Bros on her first album in 1960. As for the song's meaning, composer Silinga can only say that it is about a bird singing sweetly and inviting the listener to "that happier place" called heaven.
