"Smith went by invitation to perform at the home of Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivero, which is now a museum. She wandered through their private residence, and was struck by a framed collection of butterflies hanging on the ceiling over Kahlo's bed. It was a gift from the Japanese architect Isamu Noguchi. Patti magined Frieda, with her physical suffering, unable to walk, gazing at the butterflies -- Noguchi's tender gesture. A short while later, Patti became ill with a digestive problem (perhaps from Watermelon juice from ealier in the day). They laid her down in RIvero bedroom, and as she laid on her bed, this song came to her. She performed it that evening for a small public gathering in the garden. This is a recording of that performance taken by someone in the audience. The first line -- I cannot walk -- is cut off. "
