"An unexpected one between the italian composer Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld, leader of Einstürzende Neubauten and former Bad Seeds. They first met during the realization of Ingiuria, a theatre pièce and right after that they collaborated on a song for a soundtrack, _A Quite Life_. That song started the whole process of writing and producing an album together where songs and more experimental pieces could find a common ground."
The group was founded as the Golden Gate Jubilee Singers in 1934, by four students at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. According to the group's website, the original members were Willie Johnson (baritone; d. 1980), William Langford (tenor; d. 1970), Henry Owens (second tenor; d. 1970) and Orlandus Wilson (bass; 1917–1998); other sources state that Langford and Wilson replaced earlier members Robert _Peg_ Ford and A.C. _Eddie_ Griffin in 1935 -- wiki
The title of Rímur, Trio Mediaeval’s seventh album for ECM, takes its name from a longstanding tradition of Icelandic rhyming verses, passed down orally from generation to generation until reaching their present incarnations in a program that meshes three distinct voices with a fourth: that of trumpeter Arve Henriksen. see link for more details

"Composer Greene, who worked extensively for Stan Kenton during the 1940s and 50s, when the band was in constant need of original vocal material. Chris Connor, aka Mary Jean Loutsenhizer (1927-2009) was a under-recognized singer -- I call her one of the Velvet Birds. I was first exposed to her singing by Ran Blake....I had to learn the melody for this one as part of an ear training class Blake taught at NEC. He & Chris were good friends and collaborators. She was from Kansas City, MO, started her life of music on clarinet, and was quite good at it, shifting over to jazz singing in college at the U of MO. She live (and died) for many years in Toms River, NJ with her long-term partner and manager, Lori Muscarelle (who also (apparently) played the cello). Muscarelle is now 88 and, apprently still living in Toms River.
"John Kuipers, Marvin Green, Miguel Frasconi, Paul Hodge, V. Eric Cadesky. The group was was founded in 1977 in Toronto by these five musicians. All part are play (unsurprisingly) on glass instruments. Frasconi, in particular, is a composer and improviser whose instrumentarium includes glass objects, electronics and instruments of his own design. His glass objects are struck, blown, stroked, smashed and otherwise coaxed into vibration. Miguel has worked closely with John Cage, Morton Subotnick, Pauline Oliveros, James Tenney, and Jon Hassell. His music has been released on New Albion, Porter, and Clang"
"The All Seeing I were a British electronic music group from Sheffield, England active from 1996-2002. Comprising Dean Honer, Jason Buckle and DJ Parrot (real name Richard Barratt). Of this cut, Horner says _This was the first single, written around a bit of Tata Vega singing acapella. One side featured this version, kind of industrial dancehall, and the other a mellower easy listening take. Unfortunately, the mellow version had a large and quite naughty sample in it, which made an official release a little prohibitive -- discogs.com "

Of this work she writes that the works presented feature her “monologuing dramatically” and “delivering advice to anyone who would listen.” As with so many albums being released in 2021, this release has been deeply shaped by the isolation of the pandemic and the restrictions on performing music with others."

"Released as a single. Voice track lifted from Buddy Rich recording and vocal track of Richie's daughter Cathy, who eventually grew up to be manager for Rich's big band. She sang it in 1967 when she was about 13, and Seeing I lifted it very effectively for this track."
"Rich's 13 year old daughter Cathy makes her live television debut fronting Rich's big band. She's a clone of her father. And she's got a beat, for sure. See link (perhaps watch with sound off during live b'cast)"

Eleven years her senior,Bono was working for record producer Phil Spector at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood.
