RIP Paul Reubens. One of a series of ads included in Nancy Reagan's anti-drug campaign shown before films in theaters in the 80s.In the 1970s, Reubens began performing at local comedy clubs, and made four guest appearances on The Gong Show (out of a total of fourteen guest appearances) as part of a boy–girl act he had developed with Charlotte McGinnis, called The Hilarious Betty and Eddie. He soon joined the Los Angeles–based improvisational comedy team The Groundlings. The Pee Wee character originated with the group...the idea of a man who wanted to be a comic but was so inept at telling jokes that it was obvious to the audience that he would never make it. - wiki and other sources

Her debut single, _Walkin' My Cat Named Dog_, hit #22 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. impetus for the song came from living in a New York City apartment building that did not allow dogs; instead she owned a cat which she named _Dog_ and took for walks. Smith remembers: “I was young, in my early twenties, with extreme amounts of agitated energy,” she said, before adding: “I wanted to perform my poetry in the way that I was learning from Jim Morrison, or Jimi Hendrix, or the great Beat poets. And also I liked to sing a little.” Smith knew she had to change it up just a little for it to be authentically Patti Smith—she needed to, in her words, “inject a little song into it”. So she invited Lenny Kaye and his electric guitar to perform an interpretive piece alongside a poem about a car crash, as she would do in clubs around New York following this performance. He came equipped with a small amp and his electric guitar and, unbeknownst to him and Smith would cause quite a stir. (Far Out Magazine....full article, click link)
"She's a Berlin based artists, student of Leon Fleisher, and acclaimed recitalist. This short piece was written by Stravinsky in 1940 and is one of his most recorded works. Backstory (wiki)...after settling in Hollywood, Stravinsky was unable to bring the money he earned from his royalties of his works in Europe to America, due to copyright issues and ambiguities. When he found himself with financial difficulties, he decided to write new compositions entirely in America in order to exploit them, with the exclusive intention of making money. Tango, which was the first work entirely written in America, is one of those works."
RIP, beautiful soul…. Sing to me softly your tales of woe, I'll cradle you closely, I won't let go, I'll speak to you gently of what I know, Don't you cry ... Lay your head down, darling, The moon is sailing by, The stars are softly shining,The tide is full and high ... We'll fly to the edge, not as distant as it seems, And maybe we'll find out the key to your dreams, So you just lay your head down, darling, Sleep now, la-la-la-la-la
